Sutter near Scott
View north across Sutter to Juvenile Detention Home, 2344 Sutter. This building had been used after the 1906 catastrophe as temporary housing for St. Mary's Hospital. In the Spring of 1911, having outgrown their temporary quarters in a one story building at 10th & Harrison Sts., the Juvenile Court, probation office, and detention facility was moved to this building. In 1916, these functions moved to a 9-story replacement building newly built on Otis Street. 2344 Sutter was demolished in 1919. [dpwbook13 dpw2637]
