January 1, 1867
[558. View from the Nucleus Hotel-corner Market and Third Street, looking west.] Elevated view looking northwest. Temple Emanu-el at center, Denman School in distance left. The big brick structure in the middle right is Dashaway Hall with its front on Post between Kearny and Dupont (now Grant), and its rear on Morton Street (Maiden Lane).
