NE corner Post and Taylor, Temple Sherith Israel synagogue, built in 1870, Helmering & Plege. Later site of Bohemian Club. Behind the Temple on the right is St. John's Presbyterian Church, built circa 1866. In 1870, the congregation bought the building from St. James' Episcopal Church. Plank sidewalks.
