In distance center, the residence of attorney Richard Tobin, at the southeast corner of California and Taylor streets (1871). The architects, S. C. Bugbee and Son, also designed the Colton, Crocker, and Stanford mansions nearby. Present site of the Huntington Hotel. Plank sidewalks. Watkins No. 2449.
