Broadway & Kearny
January 1, 1890
Tehama Lodging House; Johnson & Fast Groceries; horse and buggy; flagpole; early homes on hill. The corner building was originally the west half of the Tehama House, built in 1851 as a first-class hotel at the NW corner of California and Sansome. In 1865 it was cut into two or three pieces, and each moved to different locations, to make way for the new Bank of California. This part, at NE Broadway/Kearny, stood here until 1902. (WMK)
