And, per email from Jack Tillmany "Attached is the ORIGINAL newspaper clipping I extracted 74 years ago from the pages of the Sunday Examiner, with the date of the newspaper in the corner. Sunday 6 April 1947, so the accident must have occurred on Saturday 5 April 1947 (just 3 months before my Balboa Line Event in July 1947.)" (AS)
