Divisadero & Eddy

January 1, 1948

View east across intersection to MUNI 31-line streetcar #981 turning onto Divisadero. 'Russky Kustar, Russian Craftsman', was a shop opened in December, 1947 on the northeast corner, selling woodcraft and artistic objects, books records and toys from Russia. The shop and its owner, Jeremiah Feingold, was the subject of testimony in a December, 1956 hearing on 'Communist propaganda in the U.S.' by the House Un-American Activities Committee in San Francisco. A different house now stands at the corner of Eddy, moved from 751 Turk in the 1970s. Holy Cross Church in background.
