Elevated view northwest across Montgomery to Metropolitan Theatre with signs advertising 'Hudson', Curtin & Co. dry goods, Metropolitan Restaurant. Banner over street for "Black Bess". New Almaden Water Depot on the far corner, in the former Miner's Exchange Bank building. A cupola on top had been razed by this time, but the octagonal pavilion remained.
