View W from Russian Hill

January 1, 1880

View west toward the Golden Gate with development along shoreline of future Marina District. The Fillmore Wharf, partially obstructed by buildings in the Black Point Packing House complex on the shoreline at the foot of Webster Street. The Scott Street wharf, more distinctly represented in this image, was a private wharf built to serve the Pacific Distilling and Refining works at Pierce and Chestnut Streets. The distillery is dimly visible at the left hand margin of this image. (RB) [G57 SV-053](GGNRA/Behrman GOGA 35346)
