Barbary Coast, View northeast across intersection of Columbus, Kearny, and Pacific up Kearny toward Broadway. Parente Brothers Tavern, with stained glass signage on the corner awning for Wreden's Lager, Old Kirk Whiskies, North Star, and ads for Rainier Beer, shoe shine stand to left of doorway. 16-Line Streetcar in background left in front of New Broadway Hotel, having just turned from Broadway. A posed photo, proprietors standing in each business doorway. Most of the buildings in this view still stand in 2021. In doorway of Parente's are posters for a fight promoted by Louis Parente in Coffroth Daly City Arena, Ad Wolgast and Willie Hoppe, set for 9-22-16, but postponed and cancelled, because of weather and threat of legal prosecution.
