Mission Dolores

View west across Dolores St. to Mission complex. To the rear of the Mission is the temporary church which served from May, 1908 to 1918. The 1884 brick church to the right of Mission Dolores was damaged in 1906 and demolished. Construction of the new church (now called Mission Dolores Basilica) began in 1913. El Camino Real bell and sign.

Portals of the Past, Lloyd Lake. Columns from the entrance to the Alban Towne Mansion on Nob Hill, destroyed in the 1906 earthquake and fire. Portals moved to Golden Gate Park in 1909.

View east to Memorial Museum. Originally constructed as the Fine Arts Building for 1894 Midwinter Fair, it was renamed Memorial Museum in 1895 and eventually became part of de Young Museum. Sundial (by M. Earl Cummings) installed October 1907, unmounted cannon on lawn, Dore Vase, Replacement sphinxes.
