1906 Earthquake and Fire, Memorial Museum in Golden Gate Park, showing earthquake damage to east wall. Originally constructed as the Fine Arts Building for 1894 Midwinter Fair, it was renamed Memorial Museum in 1895 and eventually became part of de Young Museum. It was repaired and later demolished in 1929.

2nd Cliff House
The chateau-inspired Cliff House was built in 1896 by Adolph Sutro. It survived the 1906 earthquake only to burn on September 7, 1906. View looking north on Cliff Avenue (today's Point Lobos Ave.). Large doors at lower center led to a carriageway under the structure.
