Nob HillPeople look at model of proposed Golden Gate International Exposition (GGIE) on Treasure Island, inside the promotional pavilion for the Exposition in Union Square, which opened in September, 1937. The 1/16 inch to one foot scale model measured 17 by 35 feet, took 6 months to build by 12 artisans, and cost $10,000. The pavilion is pictured in wnp27.7665.
