Appraiser's Building
Elevated view northeast toward the intersection of Sansome and Washington. The US Appraiser's Building, Sansome Street between Washington & Jackson, built around 1877. It survived the 1906 earthquake and fire. It was demolished and replaced by the current building in 1939. US Customs Building is visible at right.

Next door is Hoffman's Grill, 619 Market declared a landmark in 1981 (SFLandmark 144), it was gutted in 1985 and surrounded by a highrise building. The facade remains.
