[Unknown pier USS Oklahoma City CLG 5, a WWII light cruiser converted to a guided missile cruiser at Bethlehem Steel in San Francisco during 1957-1960. The ship had a triple 6-inch gun turret and a twin 5-inch gun forward with Talos missiles aft. Saw considerable service during Vietnam war. Mothballed in 1979, and sunk as a target in 1999.] (Photo likely taken at Pier 39 when ship was open to the public on June 2, 1968.)

Western Pacific Tunnel Fire. view southeast on railroad right of way from Marisposa at Carolina. [Mariposa and Carolina Streets Looking at northern entrance of Western Pacific tunnel. The city plugged both ends with concrete and the railroad abandoned the tunnel. The city demanded $781,000 and settled with the railroad for $700,000 in 1964.]
