Sunset Outer2526-2528 Post Street near Baker Street. Residential units on north side of street, built 1907. Sign advertising Home Improvements by Ray L. Messersmith displayed on sidewalk in front; probably responsible for the faux brick façade. (Still extant 2023.)
2328 Post Street near Divisadero Street. Circa 1900 flats with transite siding applied. Appears to be next to a parking lot. Laundry is hanging from a line in back. This and the structure next to it are now demolished.
Lower Pacific Heights2330-2334 Geary Blvd between Broderick and Baker. Built before the 1906 earthquake, this 3-unit residence escaped redevelopment and looks largely the same today. Of note on this transit corridor: advertisements for Christopher's Milk and the Richmond District's Alexandria Theater (40 cent weekday matinees)
Lower Pacific Heights2633 20th St. These Edwardian flats between Potrero and Hampshire streets were built in 1907. Both buildings extant 2019.
Mission3033-3035 Irving Street, a two-unit residence on the south side between 31st and 32nd Avenues, was built in 1950. It is one of a row of similar units on this block.
Sunset Outer2112-2114 Bryant Street near 19th Street, built circa 1885. Two flats, in the Stick/Eastlake style, with square bay windows and mansard-style parapet.
MissionA two-flat residence at 2154-2156 Bryant Street, between 19th and 20th Streets, on the west side. Built circa 1900, with slanted bay windows and decorative arch over entryway. Probably originally with wood siding, but stuccoed in this image.
Mission2608 21st Street. These residential flats on 21st Street were built in 1895. The western half was built first, and the eastern half added around 1900 while the two bay windows seen here were removed sometime after 1951.
Mission2088 Bryant Street near 19th Street, west side of block. According to the San Francisco Planning Department, this San Francisco Stick style building was built before 1889 as a single-family dwelling. It was converted to flats before 1897.
Mission1744-1746 Bryant Street near 17th street. Two-unit dwelling, built in 1907. Classical Revival style, stripped of ornament and clad in Transite siding, with an unusual two-sided bay window on second story and stained glass in upper panes of the chamfered bays. Has been restored/remodeled as of 2008. Its twin is at right.
MissionIn 1918, 1269 5th Ave was home to Otto Dreusike, who ran a sheet metal business. In 1923, The Olympian said: %quot;Otto Dreusike has been pestering around the steam room for years trying to use that man-made nature's laboratory for the purpose which it was intended, but, bless my soul, the old steam hasn't had any effect whatsoever on Otto, for he is still just as pleasingly plump as he ever was.%quot;
