Mission Dolores
View northwest from Pacific Heights about Broadway and Fillmore, over Cow Hollow toward the Golden Gate. Pierce St. runs across the view. Small church on Green St. built in 1887 with funds provided by Stephen S. Smith, deacon of Plymouth Congregational Church and publisher of the Pacific. In 1895, it became Pierce Street Congregational Church. Intersection at center right is Pierce and Union. Large southwest corner mansion with gardens front and back was built circa 1884 by wealthy attorney and landowner David Bixler. Four story windmill and water tank across Union. Home of Louis Schultz (1842-1909, brewer and capitalist) with Mansard roof to right of water tower, at 2426 (later 2466) Filbert, built no later than 1875, demolished 1948. Presidio, Fort Point, shoreline, Harbor View.

View over Music Concourse showing both de Young Museums. Building on right originally constructed as the Fine Arts Building for 1894 Midwinter Fair, it was renamed Memorial Museum in 1895 and eventually became part of de Young Museum. Small building just to left was originally the Royal Bavarian Pavilion at the 1894 Fair. It was converted into an annex to the Memorial Museum in 1895. They were demolished in 1929. Newer museum structures on left date from 1922 and 1919.
