Market Street Railway (MSRy) 36-Line streetcar #1581 passing the original Cogswell Polytechnical College building on the east side of Folsom, which opened in August, 1888 (Charles Geddes, architect). (another building had been built on the west side of Folsom in 1916). The original building (and the rest of the block) was demolished in 1941 to make way for a low cost housing project.
