Civic CenterThe ambulance is parked in front of the William Penn Hotel at 156-166 Eddy Street. That's the second Albatross Book Co. store on the extreme left at number 166, moved there in 1964 from down the block. The vacant storefront on the right with the For Lease sign was vacant for a number of years until 1976, when the Hellenic-American Social Club moved in there through 1980, a private Greek-American social club, one of the last gasps of the Tenderloin's formerly thriving Greektown.(PF)
