Cathedral Hill908 Steiner, between Fulton and McAllister. Built in 1888 by R.O. Chandler. Architects, Schmidt & Shea. Multi-colored portico of Victorian with peacock head added to fan element in gable. Polychrome paint by Maija Gegeris, 1967, prototype of all the city's multicolor paint jobs. It was one of the first colorfully painted Victorians in San Francisco and helped to start a trend.

Parnassus HeightsView northeast on Turk near Franklin. Building visible at left with arched windows and up on blocks is 770 Turk Street, moved to 1249-1251 Scott Street in November 1974. The house was built circa 1868 for John K. Wood.
Cathedral HillGethsemane Baptist Church, 601 Broderick Street, northwest corner of Broderick and Grove built 1875. Still standing (2021), building has been restored, exterior stairway at left removed.
PanhandleView northwest from Webster across empty lot toward the north side of Ellis between Filmore and Webster. Booker T. Washington Hotel at left, fire damaged building at center, and Victorian era houses at right. All buildings were demolished or moved during Redevelopment.

Ingleside TerracesElevated view north to 2020 Jackson, between Octavia and Laguna. Heller Residence built 1904, Emmanuel S. Heller and Clara Hellman (daughter of I.W. Hellman), architect Julius Krafft. After the 1906 earthquake and fire, the house served as the temporary headquarters of the Union Trust & Wells Fargo Nevada Bank.
Pacific HeightsView northeast across street to 2500 Divisadero (then Devisadero) between Pacific and Broadway. Built in 1887 for A.D. Moore, president of the Northern Pacific Railroad. The lot extended the length of the block, east side of Divisadero between Pacific and Broadway. It was demolished around 1936. (The house was featured in the 1924 Buster Keaton film, The Navigator)
