18th near Market

View west on 18th (then Falcon) between Danvers and Mono (then Moss). 4161-63 Market, at the time 61-63 Falcon, still stands today. This block began as Falcon Street, which was an extension (and the former name) of 18th. The early 1920's extension of Market Street used Falcon as the right of way, and these homes were on Market. The 1950's widening project created a retaining wall across the street and these homes were now on 18th Street, where their addresses are today. Twin Peaks in the background [dpwbook19 dpw4319]

[Crossing of Cable roads, Geary and Larkin Streets., S.F.] Larkin St. View northwest to Drugstore, Geary, Park and Ocean car and dummy trailer #18, M. P. O'Connor plumber, two cars of the Sutter Street Railway's Larkin Street line. Geary Street, Park and Ocean Railway began operations in 1880 and was purchased by the Market Street Railway in 1887. Very similar to Carleton Watkins stereoview titled "Geary St., Park and Ocean Railroad Crossing Larkin St, R. R. Constructed by W. Eppelsheimer and operated under his patents."
