1830-1834 Lyon Street at Sacramento Street, SE corner. Victorian era flats with entrances at right, built prior to 1900. What appears to be a storefront with house number 1834 is at the very corner. Image shows it stripped of ornamentation and Transite siding added. This building has since been restored to its historic appearance and house number 1834 no longer exists.

2350 Market Street near Castro Street. Residence, built 1880, with added store front occupied by Clifford's Repair Service in 1951. The Overlook Apartments on 16th Street, advertising steam heat, can be seen in the background at right.

1906 Earthquake and Fire, View west on Geary between Webster & Fillmore. People posed in the street with stoves and street kitchens, cable car tracks in the street. Ruins of Temple Beth Israel in the background. This is fairly soon after the earthquake, initially cooking was required as far as possible from buildings. Later street kitchens were allowed to move to the sidewalk. (JF) This area completely demolished in redevelopment.
