The school first occupied this building in August, 1906, and later also occupied others to its rear on Broadway. In 1928 it moved to the former James L. Flood mansion on Broadway. This was 1501 Golden Gate Avenue, at the corner of Pierce Street. It was one in a row of sixteen houses built by The Real Estate Associates in 1875. it was replaced by an apartment building 1912, but most of the row (including 1503 Golden Gate, partially visible at right) still stands.
